Veteran defender Dillon Sheppard faces an uncertain at future Bidvest Wits after his contract expired at the end of June.
The 37-year-old enjoyed a stellar career playing for like of Ajax Cape Town, Dinamo Moscow, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana.
Last season, Sheppard took up a position within Wits’ youth academy, where he coached the U17 squad, while still playing under Gavin Hunt.
Wits CEO Jose Ferreira says regardless of whether or not Sheppard plays for with during the new season, he remains the academy coach at the club.
‘He is training with the first team as a squad member ,but what you need to know is that he is already an academy coach,” Ferreira told KickOff.com.
‘So, whatever happens regarding his future, he will still be at the club; be it as a player-come-academy coach or solely as an academy coach.’
