Stellenbosch are set to host Stellenbosch Football Festival, which also involves a coaching clinic, a Legends exhibition match and a four-team tournament.

The Stellenbosch Football Festival will be taking place at the Idas Valley Sports Grounds from January 21-22.

In their continued approach to galvanise the Cape Winelands community around the growth of Stellenbosch, who currently sit third on the National First Division log, the parties involved are: Stellenbosch Academy of Sport. Stellenbosch Local Football Association (LFA), Idas Valley Sports Board and various Stellenbosch Schools.

The other clubs involved in the festival are United FC, Ikapa Sporting FC (both ABC Motsepe League, Western Cape) and a Stellenbosch LFA Invitational team.

Sunday will play host to the four-team tournament. But before the community get to see the likes of Stellenbosch FC, United FC, Ikapa Sporting and the Stellenbosch LFA Invitational team lock horns there will be a set of Under 9 matches played from 09:00 on Sunday.

Then at 10:00, Stellenbosch will play United FC. Ikapa Sporting will play the Stellenbosch Invitational team at 12 midday and the Final will kick off at 15:30. Just before the Final, however, will be the Stellenbosch Legends vs the Western Cape Legends.

The Festival will culminate in the handover of the SAS (Stellenbosch Academy of Sport) Cup to the winner of the final.
