Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is demanding a sharper performance from their side when they play their second Caf Champions League clash against Enyimba.
Sundowns will welcome the Nigerian side to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on June 29 for the tie, following a 2-0 victory for the Brazilians over Setif last time out.
Downs, however, have had limited time to prepare for the clash.
‘You must remember that we only trained for two days effectively, but credit to KB and credit to the boys who showed that they are up to the task,’ Mosimane told the club’s website.
‘Our preparation [for the clash against Setif] was not aggressive, but we were clear in our mind that we had nothing to lose. As a result, there was less pressure and less stress and we will take this same attitude forward.’
Moisten remains confident but cautious ahead of the tie, while he has sought to find a good balance between sharpness and sufficient rest for his players.
‘We gave him an additional two days off. When we gave some of the boys time off [after the Setif game], Leo had to do additional work to get up to speed and we hope he will be better soon. But we also hope all the boys will be sharper.
‘We have another chance next year and that will be our major focus. We are not worried about our opponents, but will give everything all the same. I will not read anything into Enyimba’s loss to Zamalek on a very bad pitch,’ he concluded.
