Mamelodi Sundowns cruised to a comfortable 6-0 hammering of Orlando Pirates at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
The Buccaneers got off to a good start and should’ve opened the scoring in the second minute when Gift Motupa rounded Denis Onyango, but could only manage to hit the upright with his effort.
Sundowns had their own chances a few minutes later, but Percy Tau failed to hit the target with his effort from close range.
However, the Brazilians eventually broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Themba Zwane fired the ball into the back of the net from close range to make it 1-0.
Sundowns then doubled their lead just before the break as Billiat registered his second assist by playing Tau, who slotted into the bottom corner.
The Brazilians were then awarded a penalty in the 60th minute and Ricardo Nascimento stepped up to take the kick. He made no mistake from 12-yards out to make it 3-0.
Sundowns then grabbed a fourth goal 10 minutes later when Thapelo Morena latched on to a cross from Tiyani Mabunda before goaling.
The Brazilians continued to dominate the match and extended their lead even further in the 75th minute when Tau set up Morena for his second goal of the match.
Sundowns all but sealed their victory in the 81st minute when Billiat set up Tau for the simple tap to make it 6-0 as they walked away with all three points.
