Club World Cup hosts Kashima Antlers will face Mamelodi Sundowns after seeing off Auckland City 2-1 in their quarter-final playoff on Thursday.

The J. League winners came from behind to see off the Oceanian Champions League winners who took the lead in the 50th minute through Kim Daewook.

Shuhei Akasaki gave the home crowd something to shout about when he levelled matters with 20 minutes left to play with the winner coming from Mu Kanazaki in the 88th minute.

On Sunday, Sundowns will take on Antlers with kick-off set for 12:30*.
