Moroka Swallows have reportedly secured a R55-million deal to return the PSL.

The Dube Birds, who were relegated from the NFD this season, are expected to buy the PSL status, according to local reports.

For several months the club has been on the lookout for a potential seller with Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi spearheading the charge to place Swallows back on the football map. Now it appears the club’s new owners have struck a deal with Free State Stars which will see the club moved to Gauteng and play under the famous name of Moroka Swallows.

Swallows have already had their proposed acquisition approved by the PSL, according to Soccer Laduma.

KickOff report that Gordon Igesund is being lined up to coach Swallows in the PSL this season with the media outlet suggesting that the groundwork has been done in this regard. Igesund is seen as the number one target due to his relationship with the club which included finishing second in the 2011-12 season under his guidance.

The R55-million deal will see Swallows feature in the PSL this season while Free State Stars will drop down into the ABC Motsepe League.
