Bafana Bafana international Percy Tau is looking forward to the possibility of winning silverware at Club Brugge following his season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker is set for another campaign away from the club after joining Club Brugge on a season-long loan.
The 25-year-old South Africa international spent the last term at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and returns to Belgium for another stint.
Tau was signed by the Seagulls on a four-year deal but is yet to feature for the first team.
After completing his tests before getting into his first training sessions, Tau said: ‘It was a bit intense, but it’s nice that I’ve finally done them and finished with them … ‘
Tau admits that a lot will be expected from him after he was named Proximus League Player of the Season last campaign, but is looking forward to showcasing his talent in the Belgium top flight.
‘I’m just an attacker, you know … I always think of attacking. I apply my skill with pace and a bit of intelligence, but I’m just an attacker,’ Tau told his new club.
‘I think the expectations are a bit higher, and I’m just proud to be part of those expectations. Hopefully, we’ll get to win some silverware, because I think winning plays a big role in this club.
‘I think the jersey looks beautiful. For sure, I like black because that’s one of my favourite colours that I enjoy wearing, but also the blue looks nice.
‘Most of the numbers are taken, so I will just think of a number that plays a big role either to me or my family, but I think my Mum has to choose this one, she’ll choose a number.’
