Mashamaite, who has been a long-standing Matsatsantsa target has penned down a two-year deal with the club, with an option for another year, reports the SuperSport United website.
The 31-year-old lifted a trophy in his first season in Europe before deciding to return to the Absa Premiership and join coach Stuart Baxter’s side.
The former Kaizer Chiefs captain says he is honoured and thrilled to be playing for one of the Absa Premiership’s ‘elite clubs’ and he is relishing the chance to prove himself in the team.
‘It is an honour for me to play for this club, with this team that has achieved so much in South African football by being one of the elite Clubs to win the full bouquet of domestic trophies,’ Mashamaite said.
‘When the opportunity presented itself for me to come back home I did not think twice, I jumped at the opportunity to team up with my former coach. I am thrilled at the prospect of playing in the Absa Premiership again and look forward to adding value to the team.’
Over the course of his career, Mashamaite has scored 18 times and assisted a further six from 198 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of Bidvest Wits, Stars of Africa, Kaizer Chiefs and Swedish side BK Hacken.
