Nedbank Ke Yona defender Thulani Jele has begun his trial with Ajax Cape Town and has already been training with the first team.

The Urban Warriors scouted the 20-year-old defender at the Nedbank Ke Yona Team Draft last month, according to the Ajax Cape Town website.

Jele, who has already completed his first training session with the senior team says he always admired Ajax and he feeling delighted to be given the opportunity to train with them.

‘The intensity here is a lot higher than the local team I play for back home,’ Jele said.

‘Ajax was one of the teams that I wanted to go to. The others were Platinum Stars and SuperSport United, but luckily Ajax got me.

‘I’m happy and feel good to be here. The guys have been friendly and very welcoming, so it’s been a good first day.’

The Nedbank Ke Yona defender says he is hoping to impress coach Roger De Sa in the hopes of winning a professional contract during his trial period with the club.

‘I hope to gain as much experience as possible at this level and yes hopefully also sign for this great club,’ he added.
