Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler insists that he would like to strengthen his squad by adding a further 10 signings ahead of the new season.
The 45-year-old coach has acquired a squad consisting only of 14 players since John Comitis took over ownership of the club.
Tinkler insists that despite holding on to their integral members of the squad, his side are looking to add additional signing to complete the squad.
‘We’ve kept a core of the Aces team. We have Shu-Aib Walters. Centre of defence has been an issue. Up front we have [Sibusiso] Masina, Judas Moseamedi, Aubrey Ngoma, Bhongolethu Jayiya – these are all guys that were playing in the past season,’ Tinkler told KickOff.com.
‘We managed to secure those guys now it’s about building on that. We have 14 players right now and we are looking at [signing] another ten.’
The former Buccaneers coach insists that he is not a fan of big squads and would like to keep it as small as possible.
‘I try to keep it as small as possible but you need at least two of the same quality in each position,’ he added.
Tinkler has already invited striker Lennox Bacela for a trail in the hopes of strengthening his striking options.
