Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala believes his side’s participation in the Sparta Macufe Cup will help keep their winning mentality going after their three-match winning streak.
With the Glamour Boys taking a break from domestic duty following the Fifa international break, Tshabalala believes playing in the Macufe Cup it will keep Amakhosi active.
‘It is once more an opportunity to do it for the supporters,’ Tshabalala told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘We play in every match to win and this will not be treated any differently.’
The 32-year-old says the international break could not come at a worse time for Chiefs after they regained their form by picking up three consecutive victories in the Absa Premiership.
‘The game is played during the Fifa-break to keep us sharp,’ he added.
‘The break comes at a time when we are on a winning streak. We hope to display entertaining soccer and to make the supporters happy.
‘We will beat them 2-0. It’s a showpiece, but our supporters expect good results whenever we play, be it a friendly or an official fixture.’
