AmaZulu left back Marc van Heerden remains unmoved following reports he has been transfer-listed by his club.
The NFD club are reportedly looking to lower their wage bill following their failure to bounce back into the Premiership and van Heerden has been earmarked as one of the players they will let go.
The 28-year-old joined the club from AmaTuks back in 2008 and has previously won caps for the national side.
‘No, it didn’t affect me,’ van Heerden told KickOff.
‘Because I have done what I needed to do and it was the club’s decision. My agent and the club are sorting it out and I’m still contracted to them.’
The player has admitted he has found life in the NFD a challenge.
‘The NFD is not an easy league and you can prepare as much as you would like and when it comes down to obviously playing in the league they see what it’s like.
‘AmaZulu haven’t been there for eight years so we all sort of forgot what is like to be in the NFD. Going down there it’s tough and there is a lot of competition. If you are not hundred percent in all departments you will find it very difficult,’ he concluded.
Van Heerden made 25 appearances for AmaZulu this term.
