Plymouth Argyle manager Wayne Rooney admits that Orlando Pirates are a “very good team’ and “very tough” to play against following their draw in Marbella.
The English outfit came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw in a pre-season friendly at the Banús Football Centre.
Evidence Makgopa opened the scoring for Pirates in the 39th minute before Olisa Ndah doubled their lead but Argyle came back to earn a draw through goals from Freddie Issaka and Callum Wright.
Speaking on coaching his first game in charge against Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.
“It was obviously a tough game, (Orlando) Pirates are a very good team we knew that the heat was very hard from Sunday and watching the games,” Rooney said after the game.
“So for the lads it was a very hot evening and they put a lot of work in this week and a double session yesterday.
“It was important to that they got their minutes but also try and get some rhythm of the game.
“We grew into the game and got better in the second half and could went on to win the game in the end but overall I’m really pleased with the players.
