We'll do even better – Okwuosa

Chippa United defender James Okwuosa believes the Chilli Boys can do even better in the new season following an impressive 2015-16 season.

The 25-year-old played a vital role during his side’s six place finish in the Absa Premiership last season and has now shown his loyalty to the Chilli Boys by signing a two-year contract.

‘It feels good to be back here training with the boys,’ Okwuosa told the Chippa United website.

‘All I want is to make a contribution to this team. I am grateful for the warm welcome I received from the coach, technical team and players.  Everybody, including management and staff, has been good to me.

The Nigerian defender went on to say that his main focus is on working hard to help Chippa accomplish bigger things during the 2016-17 season.

‘I always set myself goals as a footballer and believe that as a group we can create something special this season,’ he said.

‘Last season was great, but this season we will do even better. We must remain focused and work hard, because it will not be easy.

‘The supporters were big part of what we achieved last season and we have to pay them back by making them proud on the field of play.’

The former Ajax Cape Town defender also reserved a special praise for club chairman Chippa Mpengesi, who he now considers as family.

‘We are like brothers now. I consider the Chairman as family. He is a true leader and I thank him for supporting me all the way,’ the defender added.

The Chilli Boys recently confirm the signing of  former Bush Bucks defender Bongani Kama and is now contracted to a one-year deal with an option to renew for a year.
