SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams admits that he is not happy with his individual performances during the 2015-16 season.

Williams, who played in all 30 Absa Premiership matches for Matsatsantsa last season, feels that his performance and his team’s performance was not up to standards.

‘On an individual level, I was not happy with my own performances. I think I conceded far too many goals and that does not sit well with me,’ Williams told Goal.

‘And as a club, we have not done well in recent times as you may have seen, we struggled in the league the past couple of seasons.’

Williams says that Matsatsantsa disappointing performance last season boiled down to the changing of managers during the season. However, he insists that he is relishing the chance to redeem himself during the new season.

‘I think that was down to the chop and changing that was happening at the club,’ he added.

‘But I think under the new coach, everyone is in a good space and everything is looking good and positive. Personally, I am feeling great, in a good space and looking forward to the new season.’

The 24-year-old reminds confident that he will continue to see regular game time as long as he continues to work hard, despite the arrival of Riyaad Pieterse.

‘I have been playing regularly the past two season because of hard work,’ the United shot-stopper said.

‘I look after my body well and I listen to what the goalkeeper coach says in order to improve my game and come the new season, I am looking forward to continuing with all that.’
