Bidvest Wits beat Platinum Stars 1-0 top go top of the Absa Premiership table while Maritzburg United secured a late 2-1 victory over Ajax Cape Town at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Clever Boys reclaimed top spot in the Absa Premiership following their 1-0 victory over Platinum Stars 1-0 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Gavin Hunt’s side got of to good start and were award a penalty in the 20th minute when Eleazar Rodgers was brought down by Mbongeni Mzimela inside the box, which led to his sending with a straight red. Rodgers stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards

Dikwena pressed high in search of an equalising goal in the closing stages but were unable to break down the Wits defence.

However, the score remained 1-0 after the final whistle as the Students held on to collect all three points and reclaim top spot in the Absa Premiership standings.

Meanwhile, Maritzburg United secure a late 2-1 victory over Ajax Cape Town at Cape Town Stadium in the Absa Premiership.

The Team of Choice opened the scoring in the 46th minutes through Lebohang Maboe before Thabo Mosadi restored parity in the 80th minute but Deolin Mekoa all but sealed the victory for the host after scoring a 90th-minute goal as his side walked away with all three points.
