Bidvest Wits have joined the chase to sign the versatile defender Thato Mokeke from SuperSport United.
Recent reports suggest that Orlando Pirates have already made contact with the versatile player, who is rated highly by new Bucs coach Muhsin Ertugral, according to KickOff.com.
A source close to Mokeke revealed that the defenders future remains in the hands of coach Stuart Baxter.
‘There is no secret that both Wits and Pirates want him,’ the source said.
‘Remember he is the only left-footed midfielder at SuperSport and is versatile. The club needs balance.
‘The coach Stuart Baxter will make the final call whether SuperSport United keep or release him.’
The former Ajax Cape Town defender featured in a total of 13 matches for Matsatsantsa last season in all competitions.
