Bidvest Wits midfielder Xola Mlambo says his side have to up their game when they face Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 finals on Saturday.
The 25-year-old says his side has to improve their performance when they take on the Brazilians on Saturday or risk losing the match.
‘Chiefs and Pirates are not Mamelodi Sundowns. When we go to that game we have to go with a fresh mentality saying we are playing against Sundowns,’ Mlambo said.
‘But not Chiefs or Pirates. Sundowns is a very difficult team to play and they are the favourites currently. So anyone who plays against Sundowns must up their game or else you will have a beating.
‘They are a good side one has to give credit where it’s due. But in a game of football, anything is possible, you can win by luck or proper preparations.’
Mlambo says he is excited by the prospect of playing in his first cup finals for the Students while also insisting that his side will go all out against Pitso Mosimane side.
‘There is a little bit of excitement but I have to be content with that. I have to keep calm and focus on my game. Everything that happens, it will be the outcome of the cup final at the end of the day,’ he added.
‘I’m not raising my expectations very high, but we are going all out for it as a team.’
The match at Mbombela Stadium kicks off at 17:00.
