SuperSport United star Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane has revealed his excitement ahead of his club’s MTN8 clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The veteran is not unused to big derby days having spent eight years at Kaizer Chiefs, whose rivalry with Orlando Pirates is the biggest fixture in local football, but Sunday’s clash will be the star’s first Tshwane derby.
‘With the decision to move to SuperSport, I knew it will come with such things and mentally I was ready,’ Letsholonyane said, reports KickOff.
‘I knew that when it comes to supporters, it won’t be the same [as at Chiefs]. For me it wasn’t about the supporters and other things. It was about my personal goals and achievements.’
Yeye was promised to deliver the best performance he can for his new club after they were defeated in their opening league tie of the season at the hands of Platinum Stars. The upcoming match against the defending champions, however, is likely to prove challenging.
‘They [Sundowns] are good team and they have been doing very well in the previous months. I think it is going to be a tough one,’ Letsholonyane concluded.
The match will be played the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
