SuperSport United midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane believes his side’s failure to convert their chances lead to their 1-0 defeat to ten-man Platinum Stars on Wednesday.
The only goal of the match came in the 62nd minute by Robert Ng’ambi eight minutes Sphamandla Mlilor was sent off the field, reducing Dikwena to 10-men.
The 34-year-old says his side’s inability to convert their chances lead to United conceding a goal and ultimately suffering their first defeat in the Absa Premiership this season.
‘We played well, we created chances in the first half but obviously, we didn’t convert them and they caught us in a critical phase. We went 1-0 down and we lost the game,’ Letsholonyane said.
However, Letsholonyane has faith that Matsatsantsa can bounce back from their opening defeat and hopefully accumulate enough points to finish at the top of the PSL table.
‘Once we get it right and start scoring we will obviously start collecting points, and hopefully, at the end of the season, we will be on top of the log.’
SuperSport United will now take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals at Loftus Versveld Stadium on Sunday.
Kick-off has been set for 15:00.
