Siyanda Zwane has backed his club Mamelodi Sundowns’ status as the best football club in Africa.
Sundowns have been in impressive form in the Caf Champions League of late and also surged to the Premiership title with two games to spare.
Now, in light of their recent exploits, the side has been proclaimed as the continent’s best by FootballDataBase.
‘If you look at teams we have played in this Champions League, I think we have done very well,’ Zwane told KickOff.
‘We haven’t lost one game and we have been playing with the so called “African Giants”, and we have been able to do well against them. I think those are the things that catapulted us to where we are now,’ he added.
Zwane is adamant he will keep his feet on the ground and remain humble, while he is urging his teammates to continue to work hard.
‘Everybody is prepared in the team and everybody is an asset, so I don’t want to be cocky and say “no one will stop us” because that would be not be the right words to use right now,’ the defender explained.
Pitso Mosimane and co will continue their bid for continental glory when they face Enyimba away on August 23.
