Kaizer Chiefs MDC coach Arthur Zwane says he wants his side to start the year off on a positive note as they prepare to face Orlando Pirates at Sinaba Stadium on Sunday.
The Amakhosi MDC side currently occupies fifth place on the MultiChoice Diski Challenge standings with 17 points and five points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on 22 points.
Zwane has stressed the importance of starting the year on a high as they try and close the gap on the Brazilians at the summit of the table.
‘If you want to start the year on a good note you need to start by winning,’ Zwane told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘It’s important that we win our game on Sunday against Pirates and being our first game of the year, we need to set the standard for the year going forward.
‘It’s also key for the players to enjoy themselves especially playing against our Soweto rivals. We want the boys to have fun, but at the same time they must understand the importance of collecting maximum points.’
Kick-off has been set for 14:00.
