Mamelodi Sundowns right back Siyanda Zwane believes club owner Patrice Motsepe is eager for the side to claim Caf Champions League glory.
The Brazilians are up against Egyptian giants Zamalek in the continental showpiece final, the first leg of which will be played this weekend, and Zwane is well aware of his side’s need to get off to a positive start in the contest.
‘We know the importance of winning on Saturday,’ Zwane told SoccerLaduma. ‘We have to score at least two goals without conceding so that when we go to Egypt it should be easy for us,’ he explained.
The defender also insists his side will be playing at the very best of their ability as they hope to fulfill Motsepe’s ambition of lifting the trophy.
‘But the most important thing is that we are playing this game for our president Mr Motsepe, who has told us that he wants the [Caf] Champions League more than any other trophy as we have won almost everything locally,’ he explained.
‘That motivates us to go out there and fight for a win,’ the 31-year-old concluded.
The first leg action will live from the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday at 15:00.
