Ghanaian striker Anas Mhohammed thanked his wife and girlfriend in a post-match interview after scoring a brace to help Free State Stars clinch a 2-2 with Ajax Cape Town.

Mhohammed was named Man of the Match for his performance after scoring a brace and helping Ea Lla Koto secure a point against the Urban Warrior on Friday.

However, in his post-match interview, the striker accidentally paid tribute to his wife and his girlfriend, before quickly realising his error.

‘Thank you very much for giving this (award) to me and I appreciate my fans also,’ Anas said after the match.

Thank you for this, I appreciate my fans. My wife and my girlfriend… I mean my wife, sorry.

‘I’m so sorry… I love you so much, I love you so much from my heart.’

The 29-year-old Ghanaian looked nervously into the camera, apologised, and moving along swiftly.
