The Blitzboks retaining their World Rugby Seven Series title with a victory over England is one of SportsClub’s most memorable moments for 2018.

Fiji looked destined to win their fourth series title, but a loss to England at the Paris Sevens opened the back door for the Blitzboks.

The Blitzboks knew they had to win the Paris Sevens in order to clinch the series crown, but they got off to a shaky start and needed extra time to defeat Spain.

Comfortable victories over New Zealand and England in the semi-final and final ensured that they were crowned the best sevens team in the world for the second season in a row.
