During day three of the third Test between Australia and South Africa, Cameron Bancroft was caught tampering with the ball. It made SportsClub‘s most memorable moments list for all the wrong reasons.

Bancroft, along with captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner, came up with a plan to use sandpaper to scuff the ball in order to get reverse swing at Newlands.

Bancroft’s actions were caught by a SuperSport cameraman. When it was brought to the umpires’ attention, they confronted Bancroft and he denied everything.

Later in a press conference, Bancroft and Smith admitted they had tampered with the ball.
