Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo won a roller coaster Grand Prix in Azerbaijan on Sunday.
It was the fifth win of the Australian’s career.
Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas came second after pipping 18-year-old Williams driver Lance Stroll on the line. It was Stroll’s first podium appearance.
Championship leader Sebastian Vettel finished fourth, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, despite being penalised for dangerous driving after hitting his Mercedes rival behind the safety car on lap 19.
Vettel seemed infuriated with Hamilton after the British driver slowed on the exit of Turn 15 under safety car conditions after a red-flag stoppage. He collided with the Mercedes and was hit with a 10-second stop-go penalty, which saw him drop from second to ninth.
Vettel now has 153 points in the drivers’ championship, with Hamilton on 139.
