Flyhalf Pat Lambie is back in training and could make his return to action for the Sharks in the Currie Cup.
Lambie has battled a concussion for the past three months after being knocked out by CJ Stander in the Boks’ first Test against Ireland in June.
Sharks team doctor Alan Kourie confirmed the 25-year-old Springbok has resumed modified field training on Monday. It is hoped that Lambie will return to action in the Currie Cup to gain much-needed match fitness before the Springboks’ Rugby Championship Tests against the Wallabies and All Blacks in October.
Meanwhile, lock Stephan Lewies has recovered from a hamstring strain and is available for selection. Scrumhalf Michael Claassens and loose forward Dan du Preez both started training with the team on Monday, but are not available for selection by coach Robert du Preez.
