Springbok No 8 Duane Vermeulen is being pursued by English Premiership side Bath as a possible signing after he finishes his stint in Japan.
Vermeulen confirmed after the third Test against England that he will not be available for international selection during the Rugby Championship. It is thought that he will instead move to Japan for a short stint in the Top League.

However, according to Netwerk24, Bath have entered the race for his signature once he finishes playing for his Japanese club, which is rumoured to be the Frans Ludeke-coached Kubota Spears.
The Bulls are apparently the only South African team in contact with Vermeulen’s camp, but his wages could provide a stumbling point, especially if he were to sign a dual contract with SA Rugby.
