Former Kings president Cheeky Watson has been arrested on charges of corruption and money laundering.

Former Kings president Cheeky Watson has been arrested on charges of corruption and money laundering.

According to the Herald, Watson was arrested along with Nadia Gerwel, Andrea Wessels, Mandisa Mkaza and Stephan Pretorius.

It’s believed to be linked to the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s IPTS (Integrated Public Transport System) funds of R200-million that were squandered.

The allegation is that money was channeled through Access Management, who were the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium operators.

The arrested parties are expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
