England have climbed up to No 3 in the World Rugby rankings after their 32-20 win over Ireland in Dublin.

England scored a ratings point increase of 1.80 (86.22 to 88.02) for their shock triumph over the Irish, enough for them to unseat Wales in third position in the rankings. Ireland were docked 1.80 points (91.17 to 89.37), but remain second in the rankings.

Despite their lower positioning (third to fourth) because of England’s rise, Wales still received 0.31 of a rating point for their stirring 24-19 comeback win against France. Wales went from 87.24 to 87.55.

France’s implosion against Wales cost them 0.31 of a rating point (77.33 to 77.07), which sees them drop to 10th.
