All Blacks and Highlanders centre Malakai Fekitoa says it was the most difficult decision of his life to leave New Zealand rugby to join French club Toulon.
The 25-year-old confirmed on social media that he would be heading to France later this year, which will make him unavailable for the All Blacks while based overseas.
‘It has been the hardest decision of my life to leave New Zealand, but after looking at all the things that are important to me, I feel this is the right time for me personally and for my career,’ he commented.
Fekitoa is now set to form a potent midfield combination with former All Black great Ma’a Nonu at Toulon.
