Eddie Andrews wants the presidential limitations still imposed on stadium capacity scrapped ahead of Saturday’s Vodacom United Rugby Championship final in Cape Town.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced in March the easing of Covid-19 restrictions that allowed sporting venues to operate at 50% capacity.
The Stormers will host traditional rivals the Vodacom Bulls at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday in a mouthwatering all-SA decider in the URC.
Cape Town deputy mayor Andrews earned 23 Tests caps for South Africa and also represented the Stormers and Western Province from 2000 to 2007. He said via a social media post that all the necessary measures are in place for more spectators to enjoy live matches at sportsgrounds in the Mother City.
