Bryan Habana has come out in defence of his former coach, Peter de Villiers, who was criticised by a Springbok supporter online.
De Villiers coached Habana at Test level between 2008 and 2011 and the pair forged a close relationship during those four years, with the current EP coach recently revealing on social media that the legendary wing had sent him a personalised boot he received on his 100th Test.

However, the endearing post was met with cynicism by one Twitter user named Gideon, who cheekily responded to De Villiers with: ‘If you were coaching his 100th, the Boks probably lost hey Petey?’
Habana didn’t take kindly to the question thrown at De Villiers, responding with the following: ‘He didn’t coach my 100th test no but we did lose under a different springbok coach.
He didn’t coach my 100th test no but we did lose under a different springbok coach. @CoachPdV was the coach for my 50th test match for the @Springboks where we beat the All Blacks so I’d suggest that you get back into whichever box you climbed out of 😉
