Former Bok coach Allister Coetzee appears to be the front-runner to take over as head coach of Italian side Rovigo Delta.
According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, Coetzee had been offered the job to take over from Umberto Casellato, who vacated the head-coaching position recently.
Should Coetzee accept the role, he will become the third former Springbok coach to take charge at Rovigo, following in the footsteps of Nelie Smith (1986-89) and Nick Mallett (1984-85).
The 57-year-old Coetzee previously coached the Stormers (2010-15) and the Springboks (2016-17), before joining the Canon Eagles. However, since parting ways with the Japanese side in 2020, Coetzee has not held a head-coach position.
