Junior Boks coach Chean Roux says his team’s 33-27 win against Georgia at the World Rugby U20 Championship in Perpignan was ‘a good learning curve’.
South Africa trailed 17-12 at half-time on Wednesday before producing a better second-half performance to secure an unconvincing victory.

‘The result is basically all we got from this game,’ admitted Roux. ‘We didn’t play well on the day.
‘In the first half we dropped balls and made unforced errors; it was as though there was nervousness in the squad.
‘But I think we did well in the second half. There were two tries that were not awarded, which would have made a difference. But the guys did well to hang in until the end with only 14 players.
‘It was a good learning curve. One generally learns out of rugby if you lose, and this was very close to a defeat, so we will take a lot of lessons out of this.’
