Siya Kolisi wins Laureus award

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has won the Laureus Sports Moment of the Month award for July.

The award is a newly launched Laureus initiative, honouring athletes’ remarkable achievements. There are four nominees each month and the winner is decided by public vote.

The winners of each month between March and December will go head-to-head in a final public vote, with the overall winner for Moment of the Year set to be announced at the 2019 Laureus Awards ceremony.

Kolisi was nominated for the moment he led the Springboks out against England at Ellis Park, becoming South Africa’s first black Test captain.
