The Sale Sharks have officially announced the signing of Vodacom Bulls lock Lood de Jager on a three-year contract.
De Jager will arrive in Manchester ahead of the 2019-20 Premiership season, or if selected, after the 2019 World Cup in Japan.
The 26-year-old was named as the Bulls’ captain for this year’s Vodacom Super Rugby season but has been out since February with a shoulder injury.

De Jager started his career with the Cheetahs, making 40 Super Rugby appearances for the Bloemfontein franchise before moving to Pretoria at the end of 2016.
He has won 38 Test caps for the Springboks to date and was named SA Rugby Player of the Year in 2015.
