Argentina celebrate their 26-24 win

Argentina have moved to seventh in the World Rugby rankings following their victory over the Springboks, who remain third.

Los Pumas went into the clash ranked ninth, but the win, courtesy of Santiago Gonzalez Iglesias’s late strike, earned them a 1.32 rankings points increase from 80.12 to 81.44. Argentina’s elevation relegates France and Scotland to eighth and ninth respectively.

South Africa are safe in third position for now, but their points tally was reduced by 1.33 after their first defeat on Argentinian soil. This means the Springboks are now more than four rating points behind England and less than a point above the Wallabies.

The All Blacks didn’t gain any points following their 29-9 Bledisloe Cup win over the Australia, who also didn’t lose any rating points.
