All Blacks wing Nehe Milner-Skudder has been ruled out for up to six months due to a shoulder injury.
The 26-year-old was forced to leave the field after dislocating his right shoulder at the start of the second half in the Test between New Zealand and South Africa in Cape Town on Saturday.
Coach Steve Hansen has since confirmed Milner-Skudder will undergo surgery, ruling him out for at least six months.
The latest setback is Milner-Skudder’s third serious injury in the past 18 months.
In 2016 he dislocated his left shoulder, and soon after his return to action for the Hurricanes earlier this year he broke a bone in his foot.
He only won back a place in the All Blacks team midway through the Rugby Championship, after Israel Dagg was ruled out with a knee injury.
