Vincent Tshituka has been named Vodacom United Rugby Championship Player of the Month – the first forward to achieve this – after a strong April campaign for the Lions.
Tshituka has scooped an incredible four Man of the Match awards in the URC, the flank’s barnstorming performances contributing to a four-game winning run at home for the Lions.
The 23-year-old, who was born in the DRC, has signed a three-year deal to join the Sharks, and is tipped as a future Springbok star once his eligibility issues are resolved.
In voting for Tshituka as the URC’s standout player for March, the South African rugby media were effusive in their praise as he “always gives his all” and also highlighted “his tireless work on attack and defence, carrying the ball strongly and making several tackles”.
According to the voting media, “he is the definition of consistency, physically dominant and skilled and outstanding in all aspects of loose forward play. His ball-carrying, defence and breakdown work have been superb”.
