Zain Davids honoured to “lift his bat” for Blitzboks

When he wore the green and gold for the Springbok Sevens the first time – on 28 January 2017 in Wellington, New Zealand – Zain Davids was the proudest man alive and on Friday, eight years later, he will again be on cloud nine when he runs out in his 50th HSBC SVNS tournament for the Blitzboks in Perth.

Sharks missing Springboks for European tour

The Sharks will be without Springboks Eben Etzebeth, Vincent Koch, Jordan Hendrikse and Makazole Mapimpi for the away game against French club team Bordeaux Bègles in the Champions Cup on Sunday and possibly also the clash a week later against Cardiff in the United Rugby Championship.

A convincing win for the Stormers in the Champions Cup at home proved the only success on Saturday for South Africa’s teams in the Champions Cup as the Sharks lost to the holders and the Bulls crashed in France.
