SA Rugby chief executive Jurie Roux is reportedly expected to leave the organisation at the end of the year for a post at World Rugby.
According to Rapport newspaper, Roux is set to take a position at World Rugby and his appointment will be accelerated if Agustin Pichot replaces Bill Beaumont as World Rugby chairman at the end of the year.
The election is set to be held on 10 May, with the results announced on 12 May.
Pichot wants World Rugby to adopt a global calendar and according to the reports trusts Roux to help him bring both hemispheres together.
Roux is still expected to be hired as a full-time employee of World Rugby even if Beaumont retains his position as World Rugby chairman. Beaumont is believed to be equally confident in Roux’s ability.
