The Springboks will play a Test against Japan in Japan on Friday, 6 September 2019 as part of their World Cup preparations.
According to Rapport newspaper, the fixture was confirmed by SA Rugby earlier this week.
The Boks will stay in Japan after the match to prepare for their first pool match against the All Blacks in Yokohama on 21 September.
The two teams have only met once before, at the 2015 World Cup when Japan shocked the Boks 34-32 in Brighton.
