The Sharks reportedly banked a record R1.83 million for the transfer of Dan and Jean-Luc du Preez to the Sale Sharks.

The twins were set to move to Manchester on short-term deals and return to Durban for the start of the next Vodacom Super Rugby season.

However, it was confirmed on last Wednesday that neither Jean-Luc nor Daniel will be returning next year.

According to Rapport, Sale paid the Durban-based franchise R1.83m (£105 000) for the permanent transfer of the twins.

The fee is the biggest yet in SA Rugby.

The twins’ older brother, Rob, has also signed a permanent deal with Sale.
