Springbok captain Siya Kolisi says he was more focused on the importance of earning a bonus-point victory rather than earning his 50th test cap for South Africa.
The 32-year-old led his team to victory after claiming a 49-18 bonus-point victory against Tonga in Marseille yesterday.
Jacques Nienaber’s side now lead Pool B standings with 15 points ahead of the final clash between Ireland and Scotland.
Kolisi praised his side’s performance against Tonga and believes they “accumulated as much points as they could”.
“The only thing I was thinking about was the physicality of the match,” said Kolisi.
“They were tough. We knew they would run hard at us, and they never stopped. I applaud the boys for sticking to the plan. We got the bonus point, and we accumulated as much points as we could.”
