Bath flank Francois Louw has been suspended for three weeks for making contact with the eye area of Treviso lock Marco Fuser.
The offence carries sanctions ranging from four to 52-week bans, but due to the player’s excellent record, his sentence was reduced to three weeks.
Louw will miss Bath’s next two games (against the Scarlets in the Champions Cup and Gloucester in the English Premiership), but will be free to play from Monday 6 November.
Louw will therefore be available for selection for all four of the Springboks’ end-of-year Tests against Ireland, France, Italy and Wales.
