Rassie Erasmus has been confirmed as the new Springbok coach who will lead the team through to the 2023 World Cup.
SA Rugby made the official announcement on Thursday. Erasmus takes over the leadership reins from Allister Coetzee to become the 14th Bok coach since 1992.
In a statement, SA Rugby said that Erasmus will ‘spearhead a streamlined but experienced Springbok management team until the end of the 2023 World Cup and will combine his Springbok coaching duties with his current role as director of rugby at SA Rugby’.
Erasmus’ all-new coaching team will be made up of defence guru Jacques Nienaber, scrum expert Pieter de Villiers and backs coach Mzwandile Stick.
