SA Rugby magazine has learned that Rassie Erasmus’ reported move to England is ‘not happening’.
The South African rugby community was rocked on Sunday when a report in a leading newspaper linked Erasmus to England’s top job.
Yet, on Sunday, a Rassie Erasmus Twitter account showed the South African director of rugby seemingly silencing the rumours. His post was retweeted by Bok skipper Siya Kolisi and new head coach Jacques Nienaber.

That was further confirmed by RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney, who issued a statement that left little doubt: ‘The reports are 100 percent inaccurate. There has been no meeting. There have been no talks whatsoever about any position at the RFU.’
Veteran journalist and SA Rugby magazine contributor Mark Keohane also received direct confirmation from Erasmus.
Just spoke to Rassie. He says it is bullshit … His message to me: ‘Keo, it would never happen.’ @EnglandRugby job speculation, @Springboks in an expanded 7 Nations disruption aimed at derailing the most calm & in control #Springboks administration & coaching set up … #Rugby
