The Springboks have dropped to seventh in the World Rugby rankings following Wales’ 22-9 win over Ireland on Friday.
The result in Cardiff earned Wales enough rankings points to take them to sixth position, above South Africa, who have now reached their lowest-ever ranking.
Meanwhile, Scotland remains fifth despite their humiliating 61-21 defeat against England at Twickenham. The two sides are ranked too far apart for the result to have an impact on their listing.
